Contribution à l’étude de la répression judiciaire de Juin 1848

Abstract

Après l’insurrection parisienne de juin 1848 qui fit trembler la République renaissante, un système de répression judiciaire tout à fait exceptionnel par son ampleur (environ 26 000 inculpés) a été instauré à la hâte. L’étude du destin judiciaire d’une centaine de gardes ou ex-gardes républicains arrêtés lors de cette véritable guerre civile nous fait entrer dans le fonctionnement des commissions militaires et des conseils de guerre. Cette approche micro-historique questionne les critères de culpabilité contemporains et la nature réelle de cette justice inédite.
