US agency seeks to boost funds for basic research in Russia

Abstract

washington The US Civilian Research and Development Foundation, set up to aid scientists in the former Soviet Union, may be able to sponsor basic, investigator-initiated research if a hefty increase in funds proposed by the Clinton administration is approved by Congress.
