Abstract

Esta investigación teórica, documental, no experimental, descriptiva y cuantitativa, evalúa del impacto en el corto plazo del coronavirus en los mercados financieros, mediante los principales índices accionarios, divisas y en el precio del petróleo. En este trabajo, es posible identificar qué, durante el primer trimestre del año 2020, los mercados registraron una importante tendencia bajista y algunos índices disminuyeron a un ritmo que de hecho fue más precipitado que lo que se experimentó en el colapso del mercado de 1929. Se muestra el efecto en los índices bursátiles que ha tenido la incertidumbre generada por la expansión del Coronavirus. El documento contribuye a la teoría del comportamiento de los mercados financieros ante un riesgo sistémico de gran alcance como lo ha sido la pandemia de Coronavirus, y brinda información para profundizar en futuras investigaciones al respecto.
