El desplazamiento de la centralidad en el área urbana de Quito

Abstract

En las reflexiones lefebvrianas sobre el desplazamiento de la centralidad, este artículo pretende mostrar como la planificación urbana de Quito, más allá de las orientaciones políticas, ha coadyuvado para un desplazamiento no sólo de la centralidad sino también, siguiendo a este, del incremento de la valoración del suelo. Se empieza entonces delineando la perspectiva teórica sobre centralidad, periferia y desarrollo espacial desigual. Luego se hace una breve revisión histórica de los planes de ordenamiento urbano de la capital y se la contextualiza con los momentos sociales, económicos y políticos respectivos. Aquí, se revisa también la instrumentalización de la valoración del suelo en toda la ciudad y se analiza su relación con las centralidades urbanas existentes. Finalmente, se esboza una reflexión sobre la relación de la planificación y la valoración del suelo en el desplazamiento de la centralidad.
