Neoliberalismo, austeridad y resistencia social: la movilización indígena de Ecuador de junio de 2022

Abstract

En junio de 2022 se produjo en Ecuador un levantamiento indígena liderado por la Confederación de Nacionalidades Indígenas del Ecuador, y sus aliados (FEINE y FENOCIN), que duró 18 días y que, finalmente, logró que el gobierno de Guillermo Lasso suscriba un acuerdo en el cual se compromete a reducir el precio de los combustibles, derogar decretos ejecutivos relacionados con el extractivismo y empezar un proceso de diálogo para resolver problemas sociales y económicos de los sectores más empobrecidos. Para comprender este levantamiento se analizan tres ejes básicos: (1) el programa de austeridad del FMI; (2) el sujeto comunitario y sus instituciones como el soporte organizativo del levantamiento; y, (3) la disputa por los significantes y el aparecimiento de medios de comunicación digitales comunitarios e influencers de redes sociales provenientes del mundo indígena y que jugaron un rol importante en la movilización.
