Abstract

Magyarország településhálózata lassan, de folytonosan változik, melyben szinte csak a települések he-lye állandó. A névváltoztatások, egyesülések, szétválások, megyehatár változások, a közigazgatási és egyéb, térségi szerepkörök, valamint a népességszám alapján meghatározható hierarchiában való mozgás mögött társadalmi (történelmi), térbeli (földrajzi) okok húzódnak meg, ezek feltárása helyett a szerző elsősorban az állapot bemutatására törekszik.
