Abstract

The aim of this article is to research and present the organization and operation of the library UP FM and UP PEF during the COVID-19 pandemic and to analyze changes and new work practices as a result of a period when the library was forced to operate remotely. Before the time of the pandemic, the operation of the library was strongly associated to personal contacts with library members and the use of printed library material. This paper presents the professional challenges of managing and organizing the UP FM and UP PEF library from the moment when personal visits are no longer possible, the challenges of communication between library staff and in relation to library members and other stakeholders. It focuses on services and relationships during the complete closure of public life due to contagious disease control measures and describes adapted known services, new services and services that have been successfully and reliably maintained as a hybrid model even after reopening.
