Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja kopi dalam perekonomian nasional melalui pendekatan model kuantitatif ekonometrik. Model ekonomi kopi dibangun dengan multi-equation yang terdiri dari tiga sub model yaitu, produksi, konsumsi dan perdagangan. Parameter persamaan dalam model diduga dengan menggunakan metode SUR (Seemingly Unrelated Regression). Hasil pendugaan menunjukkan bahwa untuk meningkatkan peranan komoditas kopi Indonesia dalam perekonomian nasional dan kesejahteraan petani perlu dilakukan upaya peningkatan teknologi budidaya dalam rangka meningkatkan produktivitas. Selanjutnya untuk meningkatkan volume ekspor dapat ditempuh melalui upaya peningkatan kuota ekspor kopi Indonesia di pasar internasional. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, nilai tukar tidak disarankan untuk dijadikan sebagai instrumen kebijaksanaan untuk meningkatkan volume ekspor karena elastisitas permintaannya bersifat inelastik.
