Abstract

In the last ten years, there was a significant change in the people’s food consumption and this may continue in the future. This change of food consumption was caused by the increase in their income, their knowledge of what are considered healthy foods, and urbanization. People’s food consumeption has moved away high from contents of carbohydrates food toward more protein, vitamines and minerals - rich foods. Foods originated from vegetables and fruits in general are rich will vitamins and minerals. The focus of this article is on the quantitative analysis of estimating parameters of the demand for II types of vegetables and fruits, Prediction of the consumption of selected horticulture products in the year 2003 will then be done, while considering the growth of incomes, population and the change in income elasticity of demand in rural and urban areas.
