Abstract

Tujuan penulisan paper ini adalah untuk menelusuri pengaruh ekonomis teknologi pada masyarakat pertanian, dengan lebih menitikberatkan pada peranan perubahan teknologi pertanian dalam ekonomi pembangunan serta beberapa konsekuensinya pada kesejahteraan masyarakat. Dalam paper ini dapat dilihat bahwa perubahan teknologi di bidang pertanian, yang termanifestasi dari teknologi Revolusi Hijau secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas padi, gandum dan bahan pangan lain di hampir semua negara berkembang di dunia. Gejala dan fenomena ketidakmerataan di negara-negara berkembang itu bukan akibat adanya teknologi Revolusi Hijau tetapi karena ketidakmampuan perkembangan teknologi dalam menanggulangi pertumbuhan tekanan penduduk pada lahan pertanian. Agenda penelitian di masa datang sebaiknya diarahkan untuk pengembangan lingkungan spesifik untuk teknologi Revolusi Hijau terhadap kuantitas input dan waktu untuk budidaya pertanian.
