Abstract

Faisal H. Basri menulis suatu artikel dengan judul "Perkembangan Terbaru Teori Perdagangan Internasional" pada Ekonomi dan Keuangan Indonesia Volume 40, No. 3, September 1992: 219-245. Judul artikel sangat menarik dan para pembaca, khususnya dosen dan mahasiswa ekonomi internasional atau perdagangan internasional pasti akan sangat dibantu oleh artikel ini. Mereka mungkin berharap akan adanya uraian (singkat) mengenai perkembangan teori perdagangan Internasional dari yang mula-mula sampai yang terbaru, kemudian fokus pembahasan dalam artikel ini ditekankan pada yang terbaru. Namun harapan pembaca tidak terpenuhi ketika pada pendahuluan artikel ini penulis menyampaikan bahwa dia hanya membabas beberapa teori/model perdagangan internasional yang relatif mutakhir, yakni perdagangan intraindustri, technological gap and products-cycle hypothesis, dan perdagangan jasa. Para pembaca yang mendalami teori perdagangan internasinal mungkin sangat tertarik untuk mengetahui lebih mendalam teori-teori apa yang mutakhir pada tiga bidang yang dibicarakan oleh penulis. Komentar ini terutama mengenai perdagangan jasa dan konsentrasi pasar.
