Abstract

Makalah ini menyajikan penelusuran teori dan literatur mengenai masalah-masalah yang berkaitan dengan pemanfaatan lahan untuk pertanian sebagai akibat dari tekanan penduduk. Sektor pertanian di Indonesia di ambil sebagai kasus empiris untuk mengamati bagaimana pemanfaatan lahan terjadi dati bagpimana sumbangan dari masukan biokimia terhadap produktivitas'pertanian. Jumlah penduduk merupakan dilema bagi Jawa dan Bali akibat besarnya pertumbuhan penduduk di masa lalu. Namun, saat ini Jawa dan Bali merupakan daerah padat penduduk dengan laju pertumbuhan yangrendah. Sebaliknya, pulau-pulau lain adalah daerah berkepadatan rendah dengsn Isju pertumbuhsn tinggi. Produktivitas sektor pertanian di Indonesia masih terus meningkat, baik produktivitas tenaga kerja maupun produktivitas lahan. Untuk meningkatkan produktivitas tenaga keja, peningkatan produktivitas lahan harus dipertahankan agar dapat mengimbangi penurunan rasio lahan – tenaga kerja yang ditimbulkan oleh tingginya laju pertumbuhan tenaga kerja-pertanian. Di daerah-daerah yang kurang padat penduduknya, investasi dan distribusi paket-paket masukan seperti benili, pupuk, pestisida, kredit serta penyuluhan dan bimbingan teknis.
