Dilemmas for Indonesian Agriculture

Abstract

Swasembada pangan, pemerataan pendapatan, dan stabilitas sosial merupakan tiga sasaran dalam bidang pertanian di Indonesia, yang kesemuanya diusahakan pencapaiannya seiring dengan tingkat pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia. Sasaran swasembada pangan adalah untuk memenuhi kenaikan permintaan pangan domestic dengan lebih meningkatkan pendayagunaan sumber domestik. Sedangkan, peningkatan terhadap pendapatan penduduk pedesaan yang akan mengurangi kesenjangannya terhadap pendapatan penduduk perkotaan merupakan salah satu usaha pencapaian pemerataan pendapatan. Dan, penanggulangan masalah yang disebabkan oleh besarnya jumlah petani yang tidak memiliki tanah, terutama di Pulau Jawa dan masalah teknologi pertanian yang selaras dengan kebiasaan setempat menyangkut sasaran secara luas dari usaha stabilitas nasional.
