Manpower Quality in Differential Economic Growth Between East and Southeast Asia

Abstract

Melihat pada perbedaan tingkat pertumbuhan GNPperkapita di negara-negara Asia Timur, Selatan, dan Tenggara selama tiga dekade sesudah Perang Dunia Kedua, permlis mencoba menguraikan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kualitas tenaga kerja di tiap belahan Asia tersebut. Negara-negara di Asia Timur, yaitu RRC, Jepang, Taiwan, Korea Selatan, dan Hongkong mermnjukkan tingkat pertumbuhan rata-rata 6%. Negara-negara Asia Selatan; India, Srilangka, Burma, Nepal, Bangladesh, dan Pakistan rata-rata hanya mencapai tingkat pertumbuhan GNP perkapitanya 1,5%. Sedangkan Asia Tenggara, kecuali Singapura, yaitu Indonesia, Filipina, Malaysia, dan Thailand sekitar 3%:
