Abstract

Dalam tahun 1981 ada dua hal yang menonjol dalam perekonomian dunia. Pertama ialah resesi ekonomi yang semakin tajam dan meluas di negara-negara industri. Keduanya, negara-negara OPEC berhasil untuk mengadakan penyatuan harga lagi pada tingkat dasar US$ 34 per barrel bagi Saudi Arabian Ligbt Crude sebagai "marker". Oleh para anggota OPEC juga disepakati bahwa harga minyak bumi distablisasi (dibekukan) pada tingkat tersebut, setidaktidaknya sampai akhir tahun 1982.
