Some Compositional Differences Between The Urban And Rural Population In Indonesia Around 1960

Abstract

The population of a country can be grouped according to where the people live. A common distinction in living areas is between urban and rural areas, although no clear and precise definition can be made to separate perfectly the two regions. In sociology, a rural area is usually defined as an area of face to face population, larger than a neighborhood, in which a majority of the people use a majority of the social economic, educational, religious and other services required by their collective life and in which there is general agreement on basic attitudes and beharvior, usually village or town centered.
