Abstract

Pemerintah berharap mentjapai tingkat self-supporting beras pada tahun 1962, kalau dengan berhasalnja Komando Operas: Gerakan Makmur, terutama usaha intensifikasi dan Padi Centra, produksi nasional dapat diharapkan naik kirarkira 15% atau lebih sehingga dengan demikian kekurangan dapat dipenuhi. Dalam beberapa tahun jang lalu ini Pemerintah telah mengimpor kira-kira 800.000 ton, beras tiap tahun, jang setelah pertengahan tahun 1962 sudah tidak akan diadakan lagi- Karena panen 1962 akan datang dalam bulan-bulan April-Djuni maka selama setengah tahun pertama 1962 Pemerintah masih p-erlu m-engimpor beras (kira-kira 400.000 ton) untuk memenuhi kebutuhan distribusi dari setengah tahun pertama itu.
