Abstract

Kawedanan Wurjantoro terletak dipegunungan Sewu dalam Kabupaten Wonogiri, Karesidenan Surakarta, Djawa Tengah. Kawedanan Wurjantoro tergolong daerah “minus", tanahnja tidak subur oleh karena sebagian besar dari daerahnja terdiri dari tanah jang mengandung batu kapur. Sebagian akibat dari keadaan tanah tsb. tadi usaha usaha pertanian rakjat mengalami kesukaran2 jang tidak sedikit. Guna mengurangi kesukaran2 tsb. Maka dalam rangka usaha2 perbaikan tanah dalam daerah tsb dibuat suatu waduk seluas 12 ha, dam2, bendungan2 dengan saluran, djuga diadakan ,”terassering" dan penanaman pohon di daerah2 jang gundul. Tiap penduduk dalam Kawedanan Wurjantoro rata2 memiliki 31.2 ha. Tanah jang terdiri dari tanah sawah dan ladang. Mengenai hak. Milik atas tanah dalam daerah ini orang mengenai apa jang disebut setempat “sanggon" jang menjatakan bahwa tanah itu dimiliki oleh Keradjaan Mangkunegara dan tiap2 penduduk hanja mendapat hak untuk mempergunakan/mengusahakan tanah itu
