Rural Credit in Australia

Abstract

This article aims to study the major aspects of the institutional framework for provision of credit to rural producers in Australia. Australia is one of the most advanced economies in the world, but it is essentially an agrarian country. For in spite of the increasingly rapid rate of industrialization during the recent decades, by and large the rural sector must still be considered as the single most important from the point of view of the national economy. On the average, rather more than four fifths of Australia's exports by value originate in the rural sector.
