Abstract

Innovation is recognized as an interactive process of generation, dissemination and application of knowledge. This paper explores the impact of the links or interactions by different goals (R&D, industrial design and engineering, training, among others) onthe innovative performance of industrial firms in Argentina. The links are grouped according to their degree of complexity. Statistically significant differences are identified in innovative performance in favour of firms that participate in both more complex and less complex interactions. However, these gaps are explained by the features of the firms. The links by goals have a restricted impact on innovation performance.
