Abstract

Az Európai Unióhoz való csatlakozással jelképesen és a valóságban a négy szabadságelvhez (az áruk, a szolgáltatások, a tőke és a személyek szabad áramlása) és ezek gyakorlatához is csatlakozik Magyarország. Egy olyan térségbe lép, amely legalább annyira kulturális, humán, szociális közösség, mint gazdasági közösség. A szerző cikkében visszatekint a magyar közgazdasági gondolkodás, benne a nyitottságfelfogás elmúlt egy-másfél évtizedes fejlődésére, majd azt vizsgálja, hogy a valóságos folyamatok mennyire közeledtek az Európai Unióban kialakult feltételekhez, s mely pontokon következett be távolodás. A strukturális közelítés hangsúlyozása mellett a szerző úgy véli: az EU-csatlakozás hozamainak és terheinek, gazdasági és társadalmi hatásainak felmérése még messze nem történt meg, jóllehet a magyar gazdasági-társadalmi politika és gyakorlat csak ennek ismeretére építhet.
