Abstract

A cikk az Európai Monetáris Uniót sajátos szempontból, a megalkotásához és műkö- déséhez felhasznált statisztikákon keresztül elemzi. Rendszerezi a makrogazdasági mutatók azon együttesét, amelyek feltételei a tagságnak, valamint a statisztikákkal szemben támasztott azon minőségi követelményeket, amelyek teljesítését a monetá- ris unió biztonságos működése érdekében a tagországoktól elvárják. A tanulmány kitér több olyan kérdéskörre is, amely az Európai Unióhoz, majd az Európai Monetá- ris Unióhoz való csatlakozási folyamatban a magyar gazdaságpolitika és a statiszti- ka számára jelent új, eddig még nem eléggé tudatosított feladatokat.
