Impact du profil du dirigeant sur le niveau d'endettement bancaire des PME camerounaises

Abstract

Pendant longtemps, les PME ont été considérées par les chercheurs en sciences de gestion et les politiciens comme une forme d’organisation négligeable. Aujourd’hui, avec la mondialisation des économies, ces entreprises sont au cœur des préoccupations des politiciens et des chercheurs en sciences de gestion. Dans ce type d’entreprises, le dirigeant assume quasi-exclusivement les responsabilités administratives, financières et sociales et participe activement à la gestion courante de son entreprise (Hadj Taieb, 1999). C’est dans cette perspective que nous avons été conduits à analyser l’influence du profil du dirigeant sur le niveau d’endettement bancaire des PME. Pour cela, nous avons considéré la proximité du dirigeant avec le banquier, le conservatisme du dirigeant, l’âge managérial et la formation pour expliquer ce dernier. A l’issue de cette analyse, nous avons d’abord trouvé que la proximité du dirigeant avec le banquier a une influence positive sur le niveau d’endettement bancaire, ensuite que, le conservatisme a une influence négative sur ce dernier, et enfin que, ni l’âge managérial ni la formation (niveau et type) du dirigeant n’a une influence significative sur le niveau d’endettement bancaire des PME.
