Abstract

The second edition of the International Symposium on Energy and Finance Issues (ISEFI-2014, March 28, 2014, Paris, France), jointly organized by IPAG Business School, EconomiX (University of Paris West Nanterre La Dfense and CNRS) and CGEMP (University of Paris Dauphine), aims to provide delegates and participants with an interactive forum to discuss the topical issues in energy and finance fields. The Symposium tackles a wide range of issues including, among others, the dynamics of energy markets and their links with financial markets, the development of renewable energies and the recent techniques for modeling and forecasting energy markets. This letter gives an overview of the research papers that deal with the econometric and economic analysis of energy markets. It also sheds light on the pricing issues of energy financial derivatives as well as their role in risk management and hedging.
