Abstract

The uprising in May 1968 was, above all, a cultural event, underpinned by the writings of a few leading thinkers. The movement that began in the universities quickly spread to the whole of society and the "right to speak out" led to a whole set of new issues and demands being brought to the fore. A revolt for an alternative life? At odds with the capitalism system?
