Abstract

El presente trabajo surge de la necesidad de explicar el proceso migratorio, sin privilegiar el perfil del migrante, sino poniendo énfasis en las características del hogar donde proviene. En este trabajo se hace un anáisis de las características de los migrantes ecuatorianos a partir de la semejnanza existente entre las condiciones sociodemográficas (estructura de la vivienda y servicios del hogar) de los hogares al que pertenecían antes de salir del país, considerando el periodo comprendido entre los años 2000 y 2010. Para tal efecto, se realiza una escalamiento óptimo de las variables cualitativas consideradas; posteriormente, se descubre los factores del hogar y vivienda del migrante y, finalmente, se estudia los grupos encontrados. Los datos para el análisis han sido tomados del Censo de Población y Vivienda 2010, elaborado por el Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Cesnos (INEC).
