Estimación de la Densidad Poblacional del Ecuador Continental

Abstract

En este trabajo se calcula la densidad poblacional del Ecuador continental, determinando, analizando y cuantificando las zonas no habitables (bosques protectores, páramos, suelos de cultivo, etc.). Se inicia con un estudio cualitativo de las zonas no habitables. Luego se cuantifica y determina el territorio abarcado por cada una de estas zonas. Finalmente se estima la densidad poblacional, considerando la influencia que cada una de las zonas ejerce. Para lograr estos objetivos se ha utilizado los datos obtenidos a través de la Encuesta de Superficie y Producción Agropecuaria Continua (ESPAC) del 2009, así como la información contenida en la cartografía temática proporcionada por el Instituto Geográfico Militar.
