Abstract

In March of this year I visited the United Arab Republic-Egyptian Region, to look into mathematical and operations-research progress for the Office of Naval Research. I met several people in research, learned about their activity and gave lectures in operations research and mathematics both at the University of Cairo and at the National Planning Committee, which is in the ideal position of being able to examine problems arising on a national scale in Egypt.
