Abstract

To organize the 1992 Olympic Games, the city of Barcelona needs to prepare a schedule of the games. Selecting “the best” possible schedule is not a well-defined problem, mainly because it is not clear what is meant by “best.” The problem is one of multiple criteria subject to several constraints. To help the person preparing the schedule, we built a DSS to allow him or her to develop alternative schedules and to evaluate them in the light of various criteria.
