Süpermarketlerde ekspres kasa uygulamasının analitik bir incelemesi

Abstract

Süpermarket kasalarının önünde biriken uzun kuyrukların neden olabileceği müşteri kaybını önlemek amacı ile süpermarket yöneticileri birtakım stratejiler geliştirmektedirler. Süpermarket yöneticilerinin müşterilerinin kuyrukta bekleme sürelerini kısaltmaya yönelik kararları doğru bir şekilde alabilmesine yardımcı olmak amacıyla bu çalışmada ekspres kasa stratejisinin müşterilerin kuyrukta bekleme süresi üzerine etkileri incelenmiş ve bu süreyi minimum yapacak ekspres kasa sayısını hesaplayan bir formül türetilmiştir. Bu amaçla, ekspres kasa açıldığı (bölünmüş sistem) ve açılmadığı (birleşik sistem) durumlar için kasa bölgesinin tamamını temsil eden ve analitik olarak incelenebilen modeller oluşturulmuştur. Kasa bölgesini kasa sayısı kadar birbirinden bağımsız M/G/1 kuyruk modelinin bileşimi olarak gören bu modeller daha sonra karşılaştırmalı olarak analiz edilmiş ve ekspres kasa uygulamasının avantajlı ve dezavantajlı olduğu durumlar tespit edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçları, ekspres müşterilere tahsis edilecek kasa sayısının dikkatli seçilmesi şartıyla, ekspres kasa uygulamasına gidilmesinin teorik olarak hiçbir zaman dezavantajlı olmadığını göstermektedir
