Türkiye Makine ve Ulaştırma Araçları Sektörünün Rekabet Gücü (1994-2005)

Abstract

Bu çalışma, son yıllarda Türkiye’nin dış ticaretinde lokomotif sektör haline gelen “Makine ve Ulaştırma Araçları Sektörünün” 1994 – 2005 dönemindeki durumunu, dünya ve AB-15 piyasasındaki karşılaştırmalı üstünlüğü/rekabet gücünü belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Sektörün ve buna bağlı alt ürün gruplarının (STIC 7, Rev. 3 ve 2 basamaklı) dünya ve AB 15 piyasasında rekabet gücü Balassa’nın (1965) “Açıklanmış Karşılaştırmalı Üstünlükler (RCA) Endeksi” kullanılarak hesaplanmıştır. Analiz sonucu Türkiye’nin sektör genelinde rekabet gücünün söz konusu dönem itibariyle hem dünya ve AB 15 piyasasında arttığı ve son yıllarda karşılaştırmalı üstünlüğü yakaladığı görülmüştür. Ayrıca, otomotiv alt ürün grubunun rekabet gücündeki artışın, ilgili dönemde sektör genelindeki artıştan çok daha fazla olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
