Türkiye ekonomisinde büyüme ve işsizlik ilişkisinin dinamikleri

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’de büyüme (reel GSYİH) ve işsizlik oranları arasındaki ilişkinin dinamik bir analizini yaparak, istihdam yaratmayan bir büyüme ve sanayileşme sürecinin önemini vurgulamaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda çalışma birinci olarak, 1950-2004 dönemi için zaman serilerini “trend” ve “devre” olarak bileşenlerine ayrıştırmakta ve değişkenlerin durağanlığını test etmektedir. İkinci olarak, büyüme ile işsizlik arasındaki ilişkinin yönü ve büyüklüğünü araştırmak üzere eş-bütünleşme testi ve standart bir VEC modeli uygulanmaktadır. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre reel GSYİH ve işsizlik değişkenleri, zaman serileri açısından durağan bir büyüme oranından çok olasılıklı (rassal) bir davranış sergilemektedir. Değişkenler arasında uzun dönemli bir nedensellik ilişkisi bulunmamaktadır, ancak belirli gecikme sonrasında uzun dönemde büyümenin işsizlik üzerinde artan oranda bir etkisi tespit edilmektedir. Türkiye ekonomisinde büyüme- işsizlik dinamiklerinin güçlendirilmesi için sanayileşme ve işgücü piyasası politikalarının yeniden yapılandırılması gibi dönüşümler gerekli olmaktadır.
