Devletlerin bölünmesinin ekonomik ve politik yükü

Abstract

Bu makale devletlerin bölünmesinin ekonomik ve politik yükünü, kamu sektörünün ya da devlet sektörünün büyüklüğüyle, ülke büyüklüğü arasındaki ilişki ekseninde ampirik olarak araştırmaktadır. Doksanlı yıların başında dağılan eski sosyalist ülkelerden birçok yeni devlet ortaya çıktı. Devletlerin bölünmesinin ve oluşan yeni devletlerin ve aynı zamanda dünyanın birçok yerinde cereyan eden ayrılıkçı milliyetçi hareketlerin ekonomik ve politik yükü bu makalenin konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Demokrasi ve ülke büyüklüğü arasındaki ilişki de bu makalede araştırılmaktadır. Demokrasi sivil özgürlükler ve politik haklar indeksiyle temsil edilmektedir. Bu makale politik oluşumlara ekonomik temel arayan az sayıdaki ampirik araştırmalardan birini oluşturmaktadır. Ayrıca makalede, demokrasi ve ekonomik kazanımlar çerçevesinden, Irak’taki son gelişmelere ilişkin de politika önerileri sunulmaktadır.
