Bedevi Aşiret Yapısından Şehirli Modern Topluma Dönüşüm Sürecinde Dubai Örneği

Abstract

Son yıllarda gösterdiği çarpıcı kalkınma hamlesiyle Orta Doğu'nun yükselen yıldızı olan Dubai küreselleşme kavramının bölgedeki en başarılı örneğidir. Bu makalede bedevi kültürünün hüküm sürdüğü kurak bir çöl coğrafyasında yer alan bu küçük yerleşim yerinin, Orta Doğunun ticaret ve turizm merkezi haline dönüşmesini sağlayan ilgi çekici gelişimi incelenecektir. Ayrıca Dubai örneğinde İbn Haldun'un toplum yaşamında ilkel bir durumdan, badawa'dan,(kırsal toplumdan) asabiyet adını verdiği ve bir tür toplum sözleşmesi olarak görülebilecek dayanışma ile zamanla uygar topluma, yani hazara'ya dönüşmesindeki açıklamaların ne derece örtüştüğüne de bakılacaktır. Dubai'nin başarısındaki sosyolojik, tarihsel ve ekonomik faktörlerin analizi yapılırken İbn Haldun'un umran ve asabiyet kavramları üzerinde de durulacaktır.
