Abstract

The article presents, the evolution of the economic iem:conjununcture in 2012 and the outlook for 2013-2014. According to OECD- †Economic Outlook-may 2013†, Mexico the second largest economy in Latin America (after Brasil), has continued to expand at a moderate anual rate of growth in 2012, similar to that during 2011. While consumption held up well initially, it has slowly weakened in the face of labour market uncertainty and damage from severe storms. As related by the international analysts, if growth should decrease in 2013 and 2014 it will be insignificant for Mexico as it benefits by high international reserves and a flexible IMF credit line arrangement.
