Abstract

Given the alarming data, that 3.3 million Buenos Aires do not have the economic possibility of accessing water, it is necessary that all researchers and policy managers, put on the table the interference that private property has in water, to find practical environmental and social solutions. In this paper I will analyze and develop the impact of private property on water supply along with the dynamic and disruptive role of the business function. I will analyze the debate on the state monopoly of water distribution and the famous discussion on privatization that occurred in the 90's. The research consists of a strictly theoretical (praxeological) first part, to then analyze what the empirical evidence indicates.
