Análisis por provincias de la contribución del capital humano a la producción en la década de los noventa

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es contrastar en qué medida el capital humano contribuye al crecimiento económico de las distintas provincias españolas, y comprobar si las diferencias de dotación de este factor son explicativas de las diferencias de VAB entre las distintas provincias y de sus tasas de crecimiento, cuando el capital humano es medido, siguiendo a Serrano y Pastor, en términos de trabajadores equivalentes, utilizando los salarios de mercado como ponderaciones de los distintos niveles de educación y experiencia. Los resultados obtenidos mediante la técnica de datos de panel ponen de manifiesto que el capital humano contribuye positivamente a la producción, su diferente dotación explica en un 29,3 por ciento las diferencias de VAB entre las provincias españolas y su crecimiento en un 27,2 por ciento el del VAB.
