The effect of working from home on a services company (during COVID-19)

Abstract

In the current context of the COVID-19 pandemic, working from home (WFH) is critical to a large workforce. This paper examines the impact of working from home on employee and organisational performance in light of decreasing time spent in the office taking into consideration major factors to measure performance such as financial performance, operational performance and employee performance. This paper also aims to identify the most important enabler or hindrance for working from home. These findings give an insight on the influence of working from home on employee and organisational performance, emphasising the relevance of resource allocation and addressing potential barriers to remote work. These findings can be used by organisations to improve their remote work policies and practices, ultimately enhancing overall performance in a teleworking environment.
