Abstract

This research aims to explore the phenomenon of innovation resistance to digital payment among micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in Indonesia. Despite the growing popularity of digital payment solutions in the country, many MSEs still exhibit reluctance to adopt these technologies. This research is quantitative research with a survey method. The population in this study is the owner of MSE in Blitar City, amounting to 4,793 MSE with a sample of 100 MSE. Data was gathered using a questionnaire and analysed using SEM-PLS software. The results of this study indicate that barriers to use, values, traditions, and images have a positive and significant effect on innovation resistance. Meanwhile, the risk barrier negatively and significantly affects innovation resistance. The innovation resistance variable has a positive and significant effect on behavioural intentions. In addition, behavioural intentions positively and significantly affect the actual use of mobile payments.
