Abstract

India's strong backbones are micro, small, and medium-scale industries (MSMEs), which contribute significantly to the country's economy and Tamilnadu's industrial growth, a state located in the south part of India. MSMEs create employment opportunities at a high rate and have lower capital costs compared to large-scale industries. However, they still face challenges in adopting new systems and processes in the supply chain. The stakeholders of MSMEs require prioritisation of the possible processes and systems, making them ready for the sustainable acquisition process. A literature review using preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) was conducted to identify the most critical influencing factors for sustainable procurement category management. Analytical hierarchical process (AHP) was applied which resulted cost factor weight at 0.60, organisational strategic capability weight at 0.18, stakeholder relationship weight at 0.14 and the least priority of financial capability at 0.09. This study is reached its objective of prioritising the initiatives, which support in adopting set of sustainable procurement category management. Additionally, presented important elements intended to evaluate the sustainable procurement category management. These measures are necessary in order to guarantee that MSMEs will keep providing assistance on both the national and state levels.
