Abstract

The supply chain has to be managed effectively such that the organisation yields maximum productivity and profitability. Besides the appropriate management of the supply chain, it is also important to maintain environmental sustainability through the implementation of eco-friendly supply chain management techniques. The supply chain management is influenced by not only the organisations and its employees, but also by the dealers, distributors, suppliers and also the consumers. In case the supply chain fails during the process of any stage in between, this might have an impact on the socio-environment, leading to cause an impact on the organisation performance and sustainability. This research is focused on the study of barriers to implement green supply chain management (GSCM) and the effects of implementing GSCM in an organisation.
