Abstract

Satellite Gear Trains (SGTs) is a new type of EGT. Comparing the SGTs with the planetary gear mechanism, the SGTs can get a more compact structure, a broader transmitting ratio and a complicated output trajectory. The aim of this paper is to provide a systematic method to perform design or evaluation of SGTs. The design and calculating formulae for transmitting ratio, torque acting on every link, the selection of ratio of mating gears are deduced. The research provides a basis for design of the SGTs for engineering applications.
