Abstract

The objective of this paper was to provide a clear relation between lean and co-creation by using concepts of lean and to demonstrate how lean concepts can be used with co-creation in industries. By secondary data relational analysis between the categories (lean, co-creation and industry), a conceptual model of 'lean co-creation' was created. The concept was further supplemented by interviews and statistical governances. From the conducted interviews, design aspects were drawn out which were highly crucial for industry, supplier and the customers. Technical, social and economic impact of activities within the industry were being questioned which enabled us to use parts of the conceptual model as a technical and analytical framework for mapping the necessary activities. The conclusions for this research are that parts of the conceptual model can be used as a framework for various industries while designing the product, process and design layouts. It is however of further investigation about its practical application since co-creation with lean in industry are highly useful at the organisational level.
