Abstract

This article presents a literature review of recent trends in economic production quantity models from 2000 to 2022. It examines several recent studies on EPQM focused on a production level, production cost, carbon emissions, product recycling, and imperfect production system. Also, it identified prospective research gaps and investigates the existing research trend of the justifiable economic production quantity models. Established on the potential exploration, it offers a direction for future research that could lead to the creation of a realistic and long-term economic production quantity system. We also surveyed the literature on optimising production through the use of integrated inventory models, multi-level production, and additive manufacturing.
