Abstract

It is necessary to discover the influential factors on consumers' intentions and behaviour to develop an effective reverse logistics. This paper presents an evaluation of the influence of environmental attitude on consumers' intentions to participate in the mobile phone take back program. The evaluation was based on a survey toward 355 mobile phone users in Indonesia and implemented a structural equation modelling. The result showed that environmental attitude had positive and significant influence on consumers' intentions. Furthermore, the factors that influence positively and significantly on environmental attitude were ethics and control, while environmental value had a positive influence on environmental attitude but not significant. From this result, it is noteworthy for mobile phone companies that in promoting the take back program they need to bring out the ethical and self-competence themes to inspire the environmental attitude of the consumers.
