Information technology in inter-organisational knowledge management: the case of law firm clients in Norway

Abstract

Law firms represent corporate clients by providing specialised legal services. The inter-organisational knowledge management between a law firm and its clients increasingly finds support in information technology. This paper reports research results based on a survey of law firm clients in Norway. While information technologies such as e-mail, wordprocessing, spreadsheet, groupware and presentation software are used quite extensively, internet-based services such as law firms' online legal services on extranets are emerging.
