A feasibility study on establishing distribution centres for One Tambon One Product (OTOP) project in Songkhla Province

Abstract

The One Tambon One Product (OTOP) project was established in Thailand in 2001. Its main objectives are to create jobs and increase revenues to communities, also to strengthen the Thai citizens' society. Basically, three concepts of the OTOP project are stated as local yet global, self-reliance creativity, and human resource development. Due to the government's study, it revealed that not only products, but also management perspectives, have the effects on the success of the project. Thus, the research's purpose is to propose the supply chain management concept applied to the OTOP project. It aims to analyse the feasibility of founding distribution centres in Songkhla province, focusing on technical analysis and financial analysis.
