Early warning and alluvial risk perception of Peruvian business intelligent owners systems

Abstract

The study's primary goal was to assess if business owners in Huaraz consider the early warning system at Palcacocha Lagoon effective in mitigating alluvial risks. Intelligent business systems and risk perception are closely interconnected. The former refers to the use of knowledge in a systematic way to achieve certain objectives. At the same time, the latter involves using innovative approaches to carry out tasks in ways that differ from conventional methods. Based on a survey involving 513 business owners in the Quilcay River's alluvial zone, it is suggested that 20 elements across four dimensions are appropriate for evaluating acceptability levels. Similarly, the assessment of risk perception involves 16 questions spread over three dimensions. The normality of the data was checked using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, which showed a p-value of 0.05, indicating that the data does not follow a normal distribution. Further analysis using Spearman's Rho produced a coefficient of 0.769, highlighting significant findings at a p-value of 0.000. This analysis reveals a strong correlation between the perception of alluvial risks and adopting early warning systems among business owners near the Palcacocha lagoon in Huaraz City.
