Abstract

Global market investors are innovators. They support the expansion of business and the economy as a whole. Profit generation is at the expense of society. Though the investor's primary motive is to maximise the return on their investment while balancing the risks involved, what does the company do in return to the community? Resulting in innovative investment strategies, investment in productive green projects has become a necessity of the day. Consciousness about socially responsible investment (SRI) and environment social governance (ESG) factors in running companies has been rising steadily in recent years. This research looks at how corporations and investors make investment decisions based on a systematic evaluation of the literature. HistCiteTM software evaluates whether SRI avenues and ESG disclosure variables influence investment decision-making. This paper evidences the findings and makes suggestions for handling future trends in SRI and SRI practices from SRI literature development.
