Author

  • Jan Rousek

Abstract

This paper provides information on the current state of the Slovak energy sector and discusses the general risks possibly influencing the energy sector (macro-economic risk, foreign trade and payment risks, tax policy risks and infrastructure risk). It further deals with risks of investment into the heat delivering energy facility where fuel price risk seems to be most important. In the chapter of actual risks occurring in the Slovak electricity sector, current situation of the sector is presented together with the prediction of electricity consumption and the prediction of capacity development (shutdown capacities, expected new capacity installations).
